Rather than review each
reunion event, we would like to share some of the special stories
that characterize how unique each classmate's experience can be at
Reunion as were our undergraduate experiences. We are leaving out
the names of classmates although you may be able to recognize yourself!
The Cornell campus has changed more than any of us have (see the great
reunion photos available at
www.thsjohnson.photoreflect.com for
evidence!). The first new West Campus Houses were beautiful to view
although the demolition of U-Halls to allow for the next construction
was emotional for us to see. Two of us took home bricks liberated
by some friendly construction workers. Others visited the newest building
(Duffield) or sat and soaked in the natural beauty of the Cornell
Plantations.
The children ranged in age from 1 through 18 (and a few
older than that are in the adult counts!) with a high proportion of
teenagers who attended admissions sessions and tours by day, and made
friends with other teens by night. Younger alumni kids were either
involved with the Youth Program or they were entertained by the class
activities such as s'mores and storytelling, canoeing, raptor bird
demos, and indoor wall-climbing.
